Ron Paul Fans are Normal...So They Say...

If you've read r/circlejerk or had conservative friends that are ga-ga for Ron Paul, you would likely say that Ron Paul supporters are a bit eccentric. You have to really hand it to them they are good at spreading the message about their candidate. They also think their guy is being slighted by the news (and there's a degree of truth to it). They're so enthusiastic about Ron Paul and they're willing to do things like this guy I saw on my way to work in early August:

This guy proceeded to tell me how Ron Paul is a man of truth.

They really want to get the message out about their favorite Congressman. If you go on any social networking website, you will likely see someone talking about how they like Ron Paul. This is great for exposure, but they're sometimes taking it a step too far. Take this incident for example:

This is the reason why Ron Paul supporters are really not taken seriously. They are verbally abusive at times when it's unnecessary. The guy is clearly being aggressive in his speech, when he knows he's wrong here. He's at 4 times the legal limit, and clearly he's guilty of DUI. The yelling after the fact, is something Ron Paul would have as a problem in a general election. Paul will have distance himself from his supporters, because of their inherent zealotry. It turns people off because these people distract away from Ron Paul himself. So the reason I usually say Ron Paul is unelectable is because of this problem.
